BOTOX®
Botox® is a widely used cosmetic treatment designed to temporarily soften the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. It works by blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles, reducing their movement and preventing repetitive contractions that contribute to wrinkle formation. This results in smoother, more refreshed skin, particularly in common treatment areas such as the forehead, crow’s feet, and frown lines. When administered by a qualified healthcare professional, Botox® is considered a safe and effective procedure.

JEUVEAU®
Jeuveau® is an FDA-approved cosmetic injectable designed to temporarily reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). Like Botox®, it works by blocking nerve signals to specific facial muscles, preventing them from contracting and forming wrinkles. This results in a smoother, more relaxed appearance. Sometimes referred to as “Newtox,” Jeuveau® is considered safe and effective when administered by a qualified healthcare professional.

WHY DO WE GET WRINKLES?
-
Facial Muscle Activity: Frequent facial expressions can cause wrinkles to develop even at a young age. Repeated muscle movement in areas such as the forehead, glabella (between the eyebrows), and around the eyes gradually leads to the formation of fine lines.

-
Collagen Loss: After the age of 40, the skin naturally produces less collagen, a key protein that keeps it firm and elastic. This decline accelerates with age and can also be influenced by genetics. Treatments such as microneedling or advanced aesthetic procedures can help stimulate collagen production and reduce the depth of these wrinkles.

-
Environmental Factors: External factors—particularly prolonged exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation—can significantly speed up skin aging. This may result in deep wrinkles and elastosis, a loss of skin elasticity and resilience.
TREATMENT
BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. During the procedure, your licensed specialist will carefully inject the product into the targeted areas. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch. The treatment is fast—typically completed in under 30 minutes—and involves minimal downtime, making it an easy option for those with busy schedules. Results generally begin to appear within a few days, with the full effect visible at around two weeks. The smoothing effect typically lasts three to six months, and repeat treatments are recommended to maintain optimal results.
Before Treatment:
Avoid Blood Thinners: Refrain from taking medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen for at least 48 hours to help minimize bruising.
Limit Alcohol: Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
Skincare Products: Inform your provider of any products you are using, especially those containing retinoids or acids, and discontinue them a few days before treatment.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your skin look and feel its best.
After Treatment:
Avoid Touching the Area: Do not rub or massage the treated areas for at least 24 hours to prevent the product from spreading.
No Strenuous Exercise: Refrain from vigorous activity for 24 hours to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
Stay Upright: Remain upright for at least four hours to allow the product to settle properly.
Cold Compress: Apply a cold compress to the treated area to help minimize swelling or discomfort.
Follow-Up: Schedule a follow-up appointment to review results and address any questions.
Client Case Study
A 40-year-old woman recently underwent a Botox® procedure at Vode, with the goal of achieving a natural appearance. The treatment targeted specific areas including the forehead, around the eyes (crow's feet), and between the brows (glabellar lines). During the procedure, the practitioner carefully administered Botox injections to relax the underlying muscles, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while maintaining the patient's natural facial expressions. The emphasis was placed on achieving subtle results, ensuring that the enhancements complemented her features without giving an overdone look.
